Recipe Video Production
Recipe videographer for food brands and producers: overhead cooking videos, step-by-step reels and finished-dish hero shots for web, packaging and social.
One session.
Stills and video.
Shooting recipe video and finished-dish stills in the same session means one set, one lighting rig and one day on your calendar, not two. Same light, same styling, so your recipe page has a hero photo that matches the video.
Vertical videos.
Made to be craved.
Recipe reels are framed for phones from the start: the crack, the pour, the flip and the final plate, cut to the length each platform rewards. Then we pull the full step-by-step version for your website and YouTube, so nothing gets cropped awkwardly.
Edited and graded deliciously.
Ready to post.
Every clip is color-graded and cut to the beat, with on-screen ingredient text and captions if you want them, then delivered in the formats each platform needs, from quick reels to full-length recipe videos for your website and YouTube. Download, post, done.

places to post
Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and your recipe pages, each in the right format.
Visual marketing strategy
Photos whet their appetite.
Video makes them hungry.
The strongest food brands use both. Photography anchors your packaging, website and recipe pages, where shoppers take a closer look and decide what to buy. Recipe video is what turns a product on a shelf into dinner on a table: a hands-and-pans cook on your homepage, a step-by-step reel on Instagram and TikTok, and a QR code on the box that opens the video.
Shot in the same session with the same light and styling, your finished-dish photos and recipe video tell one consistent story, so the dish people see in a reel is the dish they find on your recipe page and your packaging.

Affordable photos and video for one flat rate, starting at $695 with unlimited footage from the session. An hourly option is also available for a single recipe. The number moves with how many recipes you have, how many cuts you need and whether a food stylist is on set. There is a full breakdown on the pricing page. No per-clip fees and no licensing tiers.
-
Usually three to six, depending on cook time and how many steps each recipe has. Simple recipes go faster; anything with long cooking or baking times takes more of the day. Finished-dish photos come from the same session.
-
Each recipe is cut two ways: a short vertical 9:16 reel for Instagram and TikTok, and a longer horizontal 16:9 version for your website and YouTube. Square 1:1 cuts for ads are available too. Everything is exported ready to upload.
-
The recipe as written, enough ingredients for two runs of each dish, your product in its retail packaging, and a note on where the video will run. If you have brand colors or a mood board, send it ahead and the set gets built to match.
-
Not for most recipes. I style the dish and cook simple recipes on set with my own styling kit. For complex recipes, or when a brand wants a chef or host on camera, I bring in experienced food stylists I have worked with for over 10 years.
-
I do. Every clip is color-graded and cut to the beat, with on-screen ingredient lists, step text and captions added if you want them. Send the recipe as written and it goes in. The person you talk to on the phone is the person behind the camera and at the edit.
-
Video editing is done within a week or less, depending on how many recipes there are and how complex the edits are. Finished-dish photos from the same session are edited and delivered within three business days.

Where I shoot recipe video
Recipe video production in Orange County
Most recipe video is shot in my studio kitchen setup in Orange County, so Irvine, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Anaheim, Fullerton, Santa Ana and Huntington Beach are home turf. The Chino Valley Ranchers egg recipe series, six step-by-step videos shot overhead and at eye level, and the Califlour Foods cauliflower crust recipe videos were all produced here.

Recipe video production in Los Angeles
I shoot recipe video on location across Los Angeles: Hollywood, DTLA, Pasadena, Santa Monica, Burbank and the Valley, at test kitchens, commissaries and restaurants. Tabanero Hot Sauce's recipe series, from grilled cheese and nachos to a shrimp rice bowl, is a good example of product-in-use recipe video for a food brand.

Recipe video production in San Diego
San Diego is normal territory with no travel fee: Gaslamp, North Park, La Jolla, Carlsbad and Oceanside. I photograph and film for San Diego food brands and bakeries including Batch & Box, Heritage and The Baked Bear, and recipe video can be added to any of those shoot days.

Types of recipe video I produce
Overhead hands-and-pans videos
The classic top-down view that shows every step clearly, shot on an overhead rig so the camera never moves and the viewer can follow along. Lit so the food looks as good at the end as it did at the start.
Step-by-step recipe reels
Short vertical 9:16 cuts for Instagram and TikTok, one recipe per reel, with on-screen ingredient text and captions so they play with the sound off.
Long-form recipe videos for web and YouTube
A fuller horizontal cut of the same recipe for your website, your recipe page and YouTube, with room for every step and a finished-dish hero at the end.
Product-in-use recipe videos
Recipes built around your product, like the Chino Valley Ranchers egg series or the Tabanero hot sauce recipes, so the pack shot and the dish appear in the same video.
Stop-motion recipe videos
Ingredient builds and assembly animated frame by frame, like the Califlour Foods crust video, for a style that stands out in a feed full of live-action cooking.
On-camera host and chef demos
Recipe videos with a host or chef on camera, from a quick talk-through to a full cooking demonstration, filmed with interview audio and cut for web and social.
Cookbook and recipe page content
Recipe videos shot alongside cookbook and recipe page photography, so authors and publishers get stills and motion from one session.
More recipe video questions
How much does a recipe reel or TikTok video cost?
Video rates start at $695 flat with unlimited footage from the session, and an hourly option is available for a single recipe. Recipe reels added to a product stills day are the most affordable route, because the lighting and set are already up.
Can you shoot several recipes in one session?
Yes. Three to six recipes is typical for a day, depending on cook time. Recipes with long baking or simmering times can be staged so the camera is never waiting.
Do you shoot recipe video in Orange County, Los Angeles and San Diego?
Yes. Studio recipe work is based in Orange County, and I shoot on location at test kitchens, commissaries and restaurants across Los Angeles, San Diego and the Inland Empire with no travel fee inside that area.
Can you add ingredient lists, step text and captions?
Yes. On-screen ingredient lists, step text and captions can be added to each cut. Send the recipe as written and it goes in, so the videos play with the sound off.
Do you deliver vertical 9:16 video for Instagram and TikTok?
Yes. Every recipe is delivered as a vertical 9:16 reel and a horizontal 16:9 version for web and YouTube, with square 1:1 cuts for ads on request.
Do you also shoot the finished-dish photos?
Yes. Still photos of the finished dish, the ingredients and your product packaging come from the same session, so your recipe page has a hero image that matches the video.
Do you also shoot product and restaurant video?
Yes. See the product video page for bottle, packaging and e-commerce video, and the restaurant video and reels page for restaurant work.
